Greencross is looking for an experienced and adaptable Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse to support our clinics across the Sunshine Coast region.

We're seeking a confident and capable nurse who can step into a clinic, quickly become part of the team, and provide skilled nursing support when clinics need an extra pair of hands. Whether it's planned leave, busy periods, or additional staffing support, you'll become a trusted member of our regional team.

This role will primarily provide nursing support across:

  • Greencross Caloundra
  • Greencross Kawana Waters
  • Greencross Maroochydore
  • Potentially, Greencross Noosa GP & Urgent Care

About the Role

As a Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse, you'll provide experienced nursing support across multiple Sunshine Coast clinics.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recovery
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Collecting blood samples and performing diagnostic testing
  • Providing hospital and inpatient nursing care
  • Supporting urgent and emergency presentations when required
  • Maintaining patient records and treatment plans
  • Delivering exceptional client communication and education
  • Supporting reception and administrative duties when needed
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys stepping into different environments and contributing positively from day one.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
  • Has 2+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
  • Is confident across medical, surgical, and hospital nursing
  • Has strong anaesthetic monitoring skills
  • Works well independently and uses initiative
  • Can quickly adapt to different clinic teams and workflows
  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Is organised, reliable, and professional
  • Holds a current driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Is willing to travel between Sunshine Coast clinic locations
