About the Role

This is a hands-on nursing role where you'll have the opportunity to fully utilise your skills across all aspects of general practice nursing.

Position Details

  • Part-time role
  • Approximately 19 hours per week min (ideally Wednesday & Fridays)
  • 2 x 9.5-hour shifts per week

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
  • Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
  • Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
  • Pre-operative and post-operative patient care
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Collecting and processing pathology samples
  • Dental procedures and radiography assistance
  • Emergency and critical care nursing when required
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control and clinic cleanliness
  • Monitoring hospitalised patients and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing
  • Providing exceptional client communication and education
  • Supporting reception and front-of-house duties when needed
  • Assisting with stock management and day-to-day clinic operations

No two days are ever the same, making this a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety and staying busy.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Certificate IV qualified in Veterinary Nursing
  • Ideally has 2+ years of clinical nursing experience, however we would also love to hear from confident recent graduates who are eager to learn and develop their skills
  • Passionate about animal care and patient advocacy
  • Organised, reliable, and accountable
  • Able to multitask and prioritise effectively in a busy environment
  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Confident building rapport with clients and supporting them through their pet's healthcare journey
  • A positive team player who enjoys contributing to a collaborative culture
