Job Description

Veterinary Nurse | Permanent Part‑Time | 15 hours per week

Compassionate care. A close‑knit team. Inner‑west charm.

Are you a caring, capable Veterinary Nurse looking for a part‑time role where your skills are valued and your kindness genuinely matters?

At Greencross Livingstone Road, we’ve been proudly caring for the pets of Petersham and surrounding inner‑west suburbs since 2002. Founded by Dr Janet and backed by over 30 years of experience, our clinic is known for its high clinical standards, loyal client base, and long‑standing, supportive team.

We’re proud of our welcoming culture, modern facilities, and the genuine care we show our patients, clients and each other.

About the Clinic & Location

Located in the heart of Petersham, our clinic sits in one of Sydney’s most vibrant inner‑west communities. Known for its “Little Portugal” heritage, fantastic food (Frango fans, you’re covered), spots like the Petersham Bowling Club and Daisy’s Milk Bar, plus easy access to Marrickville and Leichhardt — it’s a great place to work and enjoy life outside the clinic.

About the Role

This is a permanent part‑time position, offering a minimum of 2 days / 15 hours per week (more where required), ideal if you’re looking for balance without stepping away from meaningful nursing work.

Your day‑to‑day will include (but isn’t limited to):

  • Assisting vets during consults, treatments, and surgeries
  • Administering medications and providing post‑operative care
  • Running diagnostics and supporting treatment plans
  • Caring for hospitalised patients
  • Educating pet parents on health, prevention, and nutrition
  • Supporting clients through difficult and emotional moments
  • Maintaining accurate records and a clean, organised clinic
  • Keeping surgical areas and equipment clean and hygienic
  • Staying up‑to‑date with best practice in veterinary nursing

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and heart to their nursing.

You’ll have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of clinical experience
  • A strong understanding of veterinary nursing procedures
  • Confident communication and good organisational skills
  • A calm, friendly, and professional presence

Most importantly, you’ll be:

  • Compassionate and client‑focused
  • Proactive and keen to keep learning
  • Someone who genuinely loves animals and teamwork

Why Join Greencross?

Alongside the Livingstone team, you’ll have the support of the wider Greencross network, including:

  • Strong leadership at clinic, regional, and national levels
  • Access to CPD and development such as LinkedIn Learning, VetWebinars, and our annual Clinical Conference (in Brisbane this year)
  • Career opportunities across a national network
  • Great benefits including Fitness Passport, 50% off Royal Canin, 25% off Petbarn, and Pounce (groceries, fuel & more) discounts
  • Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health support

Why Livingstone Road?

Because here, kindness is normal, teamwork is real, and nurses are respected for the vital role they play. You’ll have space to do good nursing, build meaningful client relationships, and enjoy coming to work.
