Job Description

Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Hudson, New Hampshire. We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture. We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

We are located in beautiful southern, New Hampshire! Our veterinary hospital is located on 288 Lowell Road in Hudson, just south of Manchester and next to Nashua. Tax-free New Hampshire is a fantastic place to live and offers beaches, mountains, and city life, all within a short driving distance from our location! Join a supportive team in a high-end, modern environment. Pet Groomers will perform top quality grooms in a timely manner. Groomers should have current grooming experience and be able to consistently provide canines and their parents with a high level of gentle and professional care. Job duties may include but not limited to:

  • Clean the dog's teeth and ears
  • Maintain an upbeat attitude
  • Calm an anxious dog or cat
  • Ensure company policies are being followed
  • Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need
  • Shampoo and wash a dog's and cat’s hair or fur
  • Create a welcoming environment for dogs, cats, and their owners
  • Cut or shave a dog/cat’s hair or fur using knowledge of canine characteristic, grooming techniques, styles, and owner’s instructions
  • Effectively trim and Dremel patients’ nails
  • Provide medicated (when instructed) and general cleansing, parasite control baths

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficient at Grooming
  • Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a professional manner
  • Calming presence to pets
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Understands and applies hospital policies and procedures
  • Keeps grooming are clean, orderly, and clutter-free
  • Removes trash, sweeps, and mops daily
  • Launders bedding and linens
  • Stocks supplies as needed
  • Attends staff and departmental meetings.
  • Excellent animal-handling skills, including confidence and dexterity
  • Ability to properly restrain patients

Preferred: three years or more of experience as a professional groomer
