Our team of experienced veterinarians and skilled support staff is passionate about mentoring veterinary students and helping them grow in confidence and clinical ability. You'll gain hands-on experience while being truly integrated into our team.
What You’ll Learn:
Externs will work side-by-side with our Associate Veterinarians and receive one-on-one mentorship in areas such as:
Conducting patient histories and physical exams
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
Performing and assisting with surgical and dental procedures
Running in-house diagnostics and interpreting results
Providing inpatient care and client education
Practicing communication and teamwork with both staff and pet owners
Whether you're refining your clinical skills or building confidence in patient interaction, you’ll be empowered to take an active role in daily case management.
Program Overview:
📍 Location: Austin, TX
🕒 Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4weeks (based on clinic and student availability)
🎓 Open to: 3rd and 4th year veterinary students
💵 Stipend: Up to $2,500 for eligible students in the clinical portion of their education
