Job Description

Lead the Future of Greencross Warringal

This is more than a Vet Director role. It's an opportunity to help shape the future of a clinic undergoing an exciting transformation.

Greencross Warringal is searching for a passionate and experienced veterinarian to step into the role of Vet Director and lead our next exciting chapter. Our Warringal clinic is currently undergoing a complete transformation, with our brand-new, purpose-built hospital expected to be completed by November.

We're looking for a leader who is excited by the opportunity to influence not only clinical standards and team culture, but also the future direction of a growing practice. While we're hoping to have our new Vet Director in place when the refurbishment is unveiled, we're open to an earlier start date, allowing you to be involved in the transition and help shape the clinic from the outset.

Located just off the vibrant, café-lined Burgundy Street in Heidelberg, Greencross Warringal is part of a welcoming, family-oriented community with excellent schools, great lifestyle amenities and easy access to Melbourne's CBD.

As Vet Director, you'll combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, mentoring and supporting the team while delivering exceptional patient and client care.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a newly revitalised clinic, influencing clinical standards, team culture and patient outcomes. With the support of Greencross' extensive veterinary leadership network and professional development programs, you'll have the autonomy to make a meaningful impact locally while being backed by a national organisation.

A Brand-New Clinic Designed for Best Practice Care

Our refurbishment will deliver a modern, thoughtfully designed clinical environment that supports outstanding veterinary medicine and an exceptional client experience, featuring:

  • Five dedicated consult rooms
  • A purpose-built surgical suite
  • A dedicated dental procedure room
  • Modern equipment and improved workflows
  • Enhanced spaces for patients, clients and our veterinary team

This investment reflects our commitment to providing the team with the facilities, resources and environment needed to deliver best practice care every day.

About You

We're seeking a veterinarian who is:

  • An experienced clinician with a passion for high-quality patient care
  • A natural leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
  • Excited by the opportunity to shape clinic culture and direction
  • Committed to collaboration, continuous improvement and clinical excellence
  • Ready to build strong relationships with clients, patients and the local community

Previous leadership experience is desirable, but equally important is your ability to inspire, support and bring a team together around a shared vision.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Veterinary Science qualification from a university accredited by the Australasian Veterinary Boards' Council (AVBC) and/or have completed NAVLE, AVE or equivalent examinations. For further information, please refer to https://avbc.asn.au/
