Veterinary Director – New Clinic Opportunity (Port Melbourne)
Greencross Vets | Full Time | Leadership Role with Performance‑Linked Remuneration
Shape a New Clinic from the Ground Up
Greencross Vets is seeking an experienced veterinarian to lead the launch of a brand‑new, purpose‑built clinic in Port Melbourne, due to open in early 2027.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role where you can build a team, shape culture from day one, and influence the long‑term success of the clinic — all with the support of an established national network behind you.
Start Now, Build Towards Your Clinic
You’ll commence your journey within a nearby Greencross clinic, allowing you to:
• Develop your leadership capabilities in a supported environment
• Build familiarity with Greencross systems, processes, and support teams
• Establish confidence before stepping into your new clinic at opening
This phased approach ensures you’re set up for long‑term success.
A Leadership Role with Aligned Outcomes
In addition to a competitive salary, this role includes a performance‑linked remuneration model, providing a clear connection between your leadership, clinic performance, and financial outcomes.
This is not an equity or ownership arrangement, but an employment‑based incentive structure designed to reward strong leadership, sound decision‑making, and sustainable clinic growth.
What You’ll Be Supported With
• A purpose‑built clinic in a premium Bayside location
• Full operational support across HR, marketing, finance, recruitment and IT
• Strong client and patient flow through the Petbarn network
• Industry‑leading tools, including Heidi Health AI to streamline workflow
• Access to extensive continuing education and leadership development
• A national network of clinical and operational leaders
Your Role
• Lead, mentor, and grow your veterinary and nursing team
• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care
• Shape clinic culture, workflows, and client experience
• Contribute to recruitment and team development
• Build a sustainable, high‑performing clinic environment
About You
• BVSc or DVM (or equivalent) with eligibility for registration in Australia
• Strong clinical skills and at least several years’ GP experience
• Leadership experience, or a clear desire to step into leadership
• A collaborative, communicative approach
• Motivation to help build and grow a successful clinic
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Opportunities to join at the very beginning of a clinic journey are rare. This role offers you the ability to make meaningful decisions, influence outcomes, and see the impact of your leadership over time while being supported every step of the way.
If you’d like to learn more or discuss how this role could align with your goals, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.
