Job Description

On the southern Gold Coast, just minutes from the sand, local cafes and that Palm Beach village feel, our clinic is busy, well-regarded, and known for consistently high clinical standards. We have a stable team of vets and nurses who care deeply about doing things properly, and we’re ready for a Veterinary Director who can set the clinical tone, coach with clarity, and keep the day running with calm purpose.

Take a quick walk through Palm Beach clinic and meet the space you’ll be leading.

This is a role for someone who wants their leadership to be felt in the best way: confident people, strong medicine, trusted client relationships, and a clinic that feels good to walk into every day.

We are offering $15,000 allowance to get you established in the role.

Why Palm Beach

Palm Beach has that rare mix that experienced vets look for: the pace and variety of a busy clinic, with a team that values standards, communication and doing things properly.

You’ll be stepping into a clinic where:

  • clinical quality matters, and evidence guides decisions

  • the team is settled, capable, and proud of the care they deliver

  • leadership is visible on the floor, not distant or theoretical

  • the community connection is real, with long-term client trust

The clinic set-up

Purpose-built space with a sensible layout and modern kit so you can deliver great medicine, start to finish.

  • Ultrasound and digital X-ray

  • IM3 dental unit and dental X-ray

  • In-house laboratory

  • Sterile theatre

What you will lead

As Veterinary Director, you’ll guide both the standard of care and the way the team works together. Your leadership will show up in the small moments that shape a day, and the bigger decisions that shape the clinic.

  • Keep clinical standards high and champion evidence-based decisions

  • Develop vets and nurses through structured feedback, case reviews and clear goals

  • Set clear expectations around workflow, communication and clinical consistency

  • Shape a diary rhythm that supports good medicine and a steady day

  • Strengthen trusted client relationships and community ties

  • Own outcomes and build a team that keeps getting better, together

How leadership works here

Senior candidates often ask the same things, and they matter.

  • You will have real scope to influence how we practise, how we prioritise, and how we support development.

  • We will align early on what success looks like in your first months, so the role feels clear and properly senior.

  • We will talk openly from the start about the package and what “good” looks like, so nobody wastes time.

Who will thrive here

You’ll fit well if you’re someone who:

  • leads with calm, structure and follow-through

  • enjoys coaching and lifting capability across the whole team

  • is steady in a busy environment and makes good calls under pressure

  • values high standards, clear communication and kind accountability

  • takes pride in surgery and medicine, and helps others grow their confidence too

What we back you with

We’ll support you with the tools, environment and benefits that help you lead well.

  • $15,000 set-up allowance included in the package

  • Competitive salary

  • Four weeks’ annual leave plus one week’s study leave

  • Paid AVA or VIN memberships

  • Paid parental leave

  • Staff discounts across Greencross clinics, Animal Referral Hospitals, and the Petbarn network

Sponsorship is available for overseas-qualified vets with a recognised degree, with guidance from a dedicated migration lawyer.

Ready to talk

If you’re exploring a Director role and want a clear, confidential conversation, we’d love to speak.

Tell us what matters most in your next move and we will show you how Palm Beach can deliver it.
