Step into a leadership role where your voice matters, your team backs each other, and every day is about delivering the kind of care we are proud to stand behind.

At Greencross Oxenford, we are part of a community that truly values great veterinary care. Our clinic is purpose built, our clients are loyal and long-standing, and our team knows how to pull together when it counts. This is a place where initiative is noticed, learning is encouraged, and accountability sits alongside kindness.

For the right Veterinary Director, this is a chance to lead a well-supported clinic on the Gold Coast and shape a culture that feels capable, caring and deeply committed to gold standard care.

Why this clinic feels different

We already have the foundations that make leadership meaningful. A purpose-built hospital, a strong local client base, and a team that believes in pitching in, sharing the load and doing right by pets and their people.

You will be backed by the tools and support to lead well, including:

  • Ultrasound and digital X-ray
  • IM3 dental suite with dental X-ray
  • In-house laboratory
  • Three consult rooms and a sterile theatre
  • Heidi AI note taking, so less of your energy goes into admin and more goes into patients, clients and your team

This is the kind of clinic where you can focus on medicine, mentor others, and keep lifting standards without losing the human side of the work.

What you will be stepping into

As Veterinary Director, you will lead a capable, down-to-earth team of vets and nurses in a full-time role with no after hours and no Sundays.

You will help set the clinical tone, guide decision-making, support growth in others and create an environment where high standards feel achievable and sustainable. There is structure around you, leadership development available, and the space to keep growing in your own career too.

Who will thrive here

You will likely feel at home here if you are someone who:

  • leads with calm, clarity and care
  • enjoys mentoring others and helping a team find confidence
  • values accountability without losing warmth
  • wants to be hands-on in clinical work while also shaping culture
  • takes pride in doing what is best for the patient and the client

This could suit an experienced leader or someone ready to step into their first formal leadership role with the right support around them..

What we back you with

  • $15,000 allowance to help you get established in the role
  • Competitive salary package aligned to experience
  • 4 weeks of annual leave, plus option to convert your 1 week of continuing education leave to annual leave (bonus point: in Australia, unused annual leave rolls over into the next year)
  • 11.5 days of public holidays in Queensland
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid AVA or VIN membership
  • Heidi AI note taking to reduce admin and free up more time for patients and your team
  • Discounts across Greencross Vets, the Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn
  • Relocation support for interstate and international veterinarians
  • Visa sponsorship for candidates eligible to register in QLD

Life in Oxenford

Oxenford gives you access to the best of the Gold Coast lifestyle while keeping a real sense of community. Think beaches before or after work, hinterland walks on the weekend, great cafés, good schools and an easy rhythm to daily life. It is a location that makes it easier to build a career you love without giving up the life you want around it.

Qualifications

  • BVSc or DVM (or equivalent) and eligibility for registration in Queensland
  • At least 3+ years of experience, ideally with previous leadership exposure. Emerging leaders are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication, teamwork and clinical capability
