At Greencross Ipswich, we believe great veterinary care starts with a team that feels supported, valued and proud of the work they do every day.
We’re looking for a Veterinary Director who wants to lead with purpose. Someone who enjoys guiding a team, nurturing great medicine and creating a clinic culture where people feel safe to learn, contribute and grow.
This is a well-established clinic with loyal clients, a varied caseload and strong connections within the local pet community. It’s also a place where leadership is supported, not expected to be carried alone. You’ll be backed by a knowledgeable Regional Clinical Director and a network of Vet Directors across the region who share ideas, advice and encouragement.
What makes Greencross Ipswich special
Our clinic sits alongside a busy Petbarn store, creating a connected pet care hub for the Ipswich community. This co-location brings a steady flow of cross-referrals and strong relationships with pet owners who value having trusted care all in one place.
Inside the clinic, you’ll find a well-equipped environment that supports high-quality medicine and surgery, including:
• Digital x-ray
• ECG, pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitoring
• Bair Hugger warming system and laryngeal thermometer
• Mindray and Skyla in-house laboratory machines
• iM3 dental machine
• Two anaesthetic machines
• Access to ultrasound and dental x-ray
Our facilities include two consult rooms, a surgical theatre, separate cat and dog wards, x-ray room, preparation area and reception.
What really defines this clinic, though, is the team. The culture is supportive and grounded in a shared love for the animals and people we care for.
Leadership support that backs you
Stepping into a Veterinary Director role should feel exciting, not isolating. At Ipswich, you’ll be surrounded by people who want you to succeed.
You’ll be supported by:
• A highly supportive Area Manager who works closely with clinic leaders
• An experienced Regional Clinical Director with a wealth of clinical knowledge and mentorship
• A network of Vet Directors across the region who connect regularly and share support, advice and ideas
Alongside this, Greencross provides extensive leadership development and clinical education so you can continue to grow as both a veterinarian and a leader.
Who will thrive here
This role will suit someone who enjoys combining clinical work with leadership and team development.
You might recognise yourself in the following:
• You enjoy mentoring others and helping colleagues build confidence
• You take pride in creating a positive and collaborative clinic culture
• You care deeply about delivering thoughtful, high-quality patient care
• You communicate clearly and build strong relationships with clients and your team
• You lead by example and enjoy helping a clinic evolve over time
Above all, you believe that great clinics are built by teams who support one another and share a common purpose.
We support you with:
• Flexible working options to suit your lifestyle
• Four weeks annual leave plus one week of study leave
• World-class continuing education including conferences, workshops and external training
• Leadership training and mentoring across the Greencross network
• Scholarships for advanced education opportunities
• Paid AVA membership or veterinary registration
• Heidi AI note taking to reduce admin so you can spend more time with patients and your team
• Mental health support including trained Mental Health Officers in clinic and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program
• Staff discounts across Greencross clinics, the Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn

If you’re ready to lead a clinic where you’re supported, trusted and connected to a wider veterinary community, we would love to hear from you.
