Job Description

Veterinary Director – Greencross Five Dock

Full time or flexible (30 hours part time considered) | Inner West Sydney

Greencross Five Dock is looking for a Veterinary Director who is ready to shape the next chapter of a well‑established clinic with a strong foundation. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role with real influence supported by an experienced, long‑standing team and backed by the wider Greencross network.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or an emerging one ready to take the next step, this role offers the support, autonomy, and opportunity to grow something meaningful.

A clinic ready for its next phase

Five Dock is a clinic with untapped potential. The foundations are already in place with a loyal client base, an experienced team, and a strong reputation and now the focus is on growth, refinement, and creating a clinic culture that reflects the best of modern general practice.

The team itself is a major strength. Long‑standing, skilled, and engaged, they bring consistency, clinical capability, and a genuine commitment to patient care. This stability gives you the platform to lead confidently, knowing you have the support of people who know their clients and their community well.

A leadership role with real impact

As Veterinary Director, you’ll shape both the clinical standards and the team environment. You will:

• Guide and mentor a capable veterinary and nursing team

• Promote evidence‑based medicine and thoughtful case management

• Influence workflow, standards, and clinic direction

• Build a positive, collaborative culture where people feel supported and heard

• Strengthen client relationships and grow the clinic’s presence in the community

This is a role where your leadership decisions matter and where you’ll see the impact of those decisions day to day.

Reward aligned to performance

In addition to a competitive salary, this role includes a clinic performance incentive model, offering a direct connection between leadership, clinic outcomes, and reward.

This is not an ownership or equity arrangement, but an employment‑based incentive structure. It allows you to operate with an owner mindset, where your decisions help shape both the success of the clinic and your own financial outcomes.

Work-life balance that is sustainable

Leadership at Five Dock is designed to be realistic and sustainable. Flexible rostering is available, including consideration for part‑time arrangements depending on your needs. There is a strong focus on creating an environment where people can do great work without sacrificing their wellbeing.

Location

Five Dock sits in Sydney’s Inner West, offering a vibrant, community‑focused lifestyle with excellent access to the CBD. With cafés, parks, and harbour‑side areas nearby, it’s an ideal location for those wanting a balance of city energy and neighbourhood feel.

What we offer

• Competitive salary plus performance‑linked remuneration

• Flexible full‑time or part‑time options

• Unlimited internal CE and leadership development programs

• One week paid study leave (convertible to annual leave if internal CPD is completed)

• Paid AVA or Vet Board registration

• VIN and Plumbs access

• Heidi Health AI to streamline consult notes

• 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support

• Staff discounts across Greencross clinics, Petbarn and partner retailers

• Relocation and visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates

What we’re looking for

• A veterinarian with strong clinical foundations and established leadership skills or leadership potential

• Someone who values team culture, communication, and high‑quality care

• A vet motivated to grow a clinic and make a lasting impact

• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in small animal practice

If you’re looking for a leadership role where you can step up, shape a clinic, and be supported to succeed, Greencross Five Dock offers a genuine opportunity.
