Job Description

Company Description

A team you can help grow. A clinic you can make your own. Support for your next step.

As Veterinary Director at Greencross Cockburn, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the way your team works, support their development and build a clinic culture you’re proud to lead. Alongside that, you’ll stay hands-on with the clinical work and client relationships that brought you into veterinary medicine.

Whether you’re an experienced Veterinary Director or a senior vet ready to take on your first formal leadership role, we’d love to hear what you’re looking for in your next chapter.

About Greencross Cockburn

Our modern, purpose-built clinic is located alongside Petbarn on Armadale Road in Jandakot. You’ll join a caring team providing comprehensive veterinary care to pets and their families, with the connections and resources of the wider Greencross network behind you.

This is an opportunity to bring your ideas, help your colleagues build confidence and make a meaningful contribution to the clinic’s future. You’ll have ongoing support from your Regional Clinical Director and experienced Veterinary Directors across the region, with opportunities to share advice, discuss cases and learn from one another.

For those considering a move, Perth offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle, with beaches, outdoor activities and plenty to enjoy beyond the clinic.

Your role

You’ll combine clinical practice with leadership, helping your team deliver thoughtful patient care and a positive experience for clients. Your role will include:

  • Leading by example through your clinical work, communication and approach to patient care.
  • Mentoring and developing your veterinary team, with regular feedback and support tailored to their goals.
  • Working closely with your Practice Manager to support the clinic’s day-to-day operations and ongoing development.
  • Creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and learning together.
  • Building lasting relationships with clients and supporting continuity of care.
  • Working with your Regional Clinical Director and wider network to strengthen clinical standards and improve how the clinic operates.

About you

You’re an experienced veterinarian who enjoys supporting others and takes pride in both your clinical work and the relationships you build.

You may already be leading a team, or you may be the person your colleagues turn to for guidance and feel ready to build on that experience. You bring clear communication, sound clinical judgement and a collaborative approach, along with an interest in the people and operational aspects of running a clinic.

You’ll hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification and be registered, or eligible for registration, to practise in Western Australia.

What we offer

We want this role to be rewarding clinically, professionally and personally, with practical support for your development and life outside work.

  • A competitive salary package aligned with your experience and responsibilities.
  • 12% superannuation in addition to your base salary.
  • Four weeks of annual leave, with the option to convert continuing education leave into additional annual leave.
  • Six weeks of paid parental leave at full pay, or 12 weeks at half pay, with flexible return-to-work options.
  • An industry-leading internal continuing education programme.
  • All-inclusive attendance at our annual veterinary clinical conference.
  • Scholarship opportunities for Membership examinations.
  • Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration.
  • Access to the Lincoln Institute’s Leading Edge for Veterinarians, a fully funded 12-month leadership programme valued at $9,000, to support your leadership goals.
  • Ongoing support from our Regional Clinical Director and experienced Veterinary Directors across the region.
  • A dedicated “Welcome to Australia” module for international veterinarians transitioning into Australian practice.
  • Relocation and/or sponsorship support for eligible interstate and international candidates.
  • Discounts across Greencross Vets, our Emergency Network and Petbarn.
