Greencross Butler is a clinic people feel the moment they walk in. It’s warm. It’s steady. It’s a team that looks after each other as much as they look after pets and the people who love them.
We’re looking for a Veterinary Director who leads with care and clarity. Someone who can lift a team, set a calm clinical rhythm, and build a place where good medicine and good days go together.
The heart of this clinic
You’ll be joining a small, tight team: one associate vet and four qualified veterinary nurses who bring skill, heart, and a whole lot of pride to the way they work.
These nurses are the kind of people you want beside you in consults and on the floor. They keep the day flowing, they notice what matters, they advocate for patients, and they help create the kind of client experience that keeps families coming back with trust.
Curious what it feels like inside the clinic? Hear from Michael (Vet) and Kat (Vet Nurse) and take a quick look around.
Your role here
As Veterinary Director, you’ll:
Guide clinical standards and help the team keep growing their confidence and capability
Mentor your associate vet and nurse team in a way that feels supportive, practical, and uplifting
Shape the clinic culture day-to-day so people feel safe to ask questions, share ideas, and do their best work
Stay hands-on with your own caseload while leading the direction of care in the clinic
This is a leadership role with real impact. You’ll be the person who sets the tone, keeps the care consistent, and helps the team feel proud of what they do.
What you’ll need to bring
A BVSc or DVM degree recognised by the AVBC, with the ability to be registered as a veterinarian in Australia
Support around you
You won’t be leading in isolation. You’ll have:
A supportive Regional Clinical Director to coach and guide you
A Vet Director group chat where you can bounce ideas around and talk through cases with peers
The wider Greencross clinical community when you want a second set of eyes, a fresh perspective, or a shared win
The clinic
Modern, purpose-built clinic with a varied caseload, including emergency presentations
Heidi AI note-taking to reduce time on notes and protect more time for patients and people
Life in Butler
Butler gives you breathing space outside of work, without giving up the things that make life easy.
Around 2 km from the beach
12 minutes to Mindarie Marina, boat ramp, and restaurants
Multiple beachfront dining options within easy reach
Walkable lunch and coffee options nearby, plus shops and essentials close by
Walking distance to the train station
About a 34-minute drive to Perth CBD, 20 minutes to Joondalup, 14 minutes to Yanchep National Park
Schools nearby and childcare across the road
What we back you with
Relocation or career support package up to $15,000
Visa sponsorship support available for international candidates and their immediate family
Flexible working options to suit your life outside the clinic
World-class CE and development, including the Greencross Clinical Conference (Symposium), workshops, webinars, and external training
1 week paid study leave in addition to four weeks annual leave
Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration
Mental health support including trained Mental Health Officers, training available to all team members, and 24/7 EAP
Discounts across Greencross Vets, ARH and Petbarn
Who will thrive here
This will feel like your clinic if you:
Lead with kindness and consistency, and you care about how people feel at work
Enjoy building others up and creating a team that communicates well under pressure
Like practicing high-quality, thoughtful medicine with a supportive crew around you
Want a role where your leadership shows up in the everyday, not just the title
