Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is growing.
Following the success of our flagship specialty and emergency hospital in Marietta, Georgia, we are proud to announce the opening of our second hospital in Dunwoody, GA, scheduled to open in October 2026
We are actively building our founding Diagnostic Imaging Team and seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and highly skilled Veterinary Assistants with backgrounds in Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, or Specialty Care.
Selected candidates will begin onboarding and training at our established Marietta hospital beginning July-August 2026, providing a unique opportunity to train alongside experienced specialists, radiologists, surgeons, and emergency clinicians before transitioning into our brand-new Dunwoody facility.

Your Impact as a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Technician
As a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you will play a critical role in helping specialists diagnose and manage complex medical conditions through advanced imaging and exceptional patient care.
- Prepare and position patients for:
- MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- CT (Computed Tomography)
- Digital Radiography
- Fluoroscopy (where applicable)
- Ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy
- Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and specialists to support efficient case flow
- Assist with advanced imaging protocols and specialty diagnostics
- Perform anesthesia preparation and induction
- Support intubation and patient positioning
- Monitor patients utilizing:
- ECG
- Capnography
- Pulse Oximetry
- Blood Pressure Monitoring (IBP/NIBP)
- Temperature Monitoring
- Recognize and respond to anesthetic changes in real time
- Support safe patient recovery following imaging procedures
- Follow radiation safety protocols and best practices
- Utilize proper PPE and protective equipment
- Assist with maintenance and quality assurance of imaging equipment
- Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory safety standards
- Promote a culture of safety for patients and team members
- Partner closely with:
- Radiologists
- Surgeons
- Internal Medicine Specialists
- Neurologists
- Cardiologists
- Emergency and ICU Teams
- Support imaging needs for critical and specialty patients
- Assist in stabilization efforts when imaging is required for emergency cases
- Participate in CPR and emergency response initiatives
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation
- Support efficient workflow and case coordination
- Ensure imaging suites remain organized and prepared
- Deliver exceptional patient care throughout every stage of the diagnostic process
- Advocate for patient safety and diagnostic quality
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday
- Lift, carry, and assist in restraining patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance available when appropriate
- Safely handle animals of varying sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity, including patient restraint, venipuncture, medication administration, and equipment operation
- Work in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital environment with frequent movement between treatment, exam, and specialty care areas
- Communicate effectively with clients, specialists, veterinarians, and team members
This position may involve exposure to:
- Animal dander, fur, saliva, and other animal-related allergens
- Chemotherapy agents and hazardous drug handling environments
- Cleaning products, disinfectants, and veterinary medical chemicals
- Medical odors, fragrances, and hospital-related environmental conditions
- Noise associated with veterinary patient care and hospital operations
- Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience
- Experience within:
- Specialty Veterinary Hospitals
- Emergency Veterinary Hospitals
- ICU
- Surgery
- High-Volume General Practice
- Strong foundation in:
- Veterinary Nursing
- Patient Monitoring
- Venipuncture and IV Catheter Placement
- Anesthesia Monitoring
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Client Communication
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
- Previous MRI experience
- Previous CT experience
- Specialty Imaging experience
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols
- RECOVER CPR Certification
- Advanced ECC or Anesthesia training
- Passion for diagnostic imaging and specialty medicine
