Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 / hour

Melrose Animal Clinic is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative to join our growing team. In this essential front-desk role, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets—ensuring a positive, efficient, and compassionate experience from check-in to check-out.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a busy veterinary environment, and has a passion for both client service and animal care.

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:

  • Greet clients and patients warmly while providing exceptional customer service
  • Answer high-volume phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Differentiate routine appointments from urgent/emergency cases and escalate as needed
  • Schedule appointments efficiently and accurately
  • Obtain and document patient medical history and client information
  • Verify patient immunization and testing status
  • Enter client, patient, and financial data into veterinary software systems
  • Generate invoices and explain charges/treatment plans clearly to clients
  • Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
  • Communicate patient arrival and treatment needs to veterinarians and technical staff
  • Manage retrieval, filing, and storage of medical records
  • Maintain an organized and professional front desk/reception area
  • Support additional administrative and client service tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in veterinary reception, animal hospital front desk, or medical reception preferred
  • Passion for animal health and client care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Proficient with computers and veterinary practice management software
  • Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations
