This is more than a job caring for animals. It’s an opportunity to build your veterinary skills in a full-service hospital where teamwork, communication, and individualized patient care are at the center of what we do.

Build Your Skills on a Team That Works Together

Great veterinary medicine doesn't happen in isolation.

At Vickery Place, we believe the best patient care comes from a team that communicates, supports one another, and works together toward the same goal. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced veterinary professionals while developing your own skills and confidence.

Our full-service hospital provides a wide range of medicine and services, including:

  • Preventative and wellness care
  • Behavioral and internal medicine
  • Soft-tissue surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Dentistry
  • Endoscopy
  • Dermatology and allergy care
  • Ophthalmology
  • Ultrasound and advanced diagnostics
  • Laser therapy
  • Nutrition and weight management
  • Emergency care during hospital hours
  • Boarding and grooming
  • Care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets

That variety means your days won't all look the same, and you'll have opportunities to expand your knowledge across different areas of veterinary medicine.

Make an Impact Every Day

As a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, you'll help provide compassionate, high-quality care while supporting the veterinarians and the rest of the hospital team.

Your day may include:

  • Providing hands-on care for hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Preparing patients for surgery and other medical procedures
  • Obtaining patient histories and monitoring vital signs
  • Collecting blood and other laboratory samples
  • Assisting with diagnostics and in-house laboratory testing
  • Supporting radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and other diagnostic services
  • Administering medications as directed
  • Assisting with anesthesia and surgical procedures based on training and experience
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Communicating with clients about patient care and treatment instructions
  • Helping patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their visit
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
  • Working closely with doctors and teammates to provide an exceptional client and patient experience

We're looking for a veterinary professional who is compassionate, dependable, and excited to continue growing.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
  • A genuine passion for animal care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop new clinical skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • A positive, professional approach to patient and client care
  • The ability to thrive in a busy veterinary hospital

Credentialed Veterinary Technicians are welcome to apply, as are experienced Veterinary Assistants looking to take the next step in their veterinary careers.
