What our Veterinary Assistants Do

As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician at Goffstown Animal Hospital, you’ll be an important part of our medical team and have opportunities to use a broad range of clinical and client-care skills.

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture and support fluid therapy
  • Perform nail trims and anal gland expression
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs and maintain imaging standards
  • Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostics
  • Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Communicate with clients regarding patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and patient charts
  • Document client interactions clearly and efficiently
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas
  • Follow established infection-control and hospital protocols
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient daily workflow
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive hospital culture

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines strong veterinary skills with reliability, compassion, curiosity, and a team-first attitude.

  • Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician experience
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) status is welcome but not required
  • A genuine passion for veterinary medicine and patient care
  • Safe and effective patient handling and restraint skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Professional and compassionate communication with clients and teammates
  • Ability to document patient records and client interactions clearly and accurately
