Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Schedule: Full-Time, Tuesday, Thursday – Saturday, 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

4 X 10 alternative work week

Salary$20 - $25 / hour.

ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.

Why We Want You!

We are seeking a dedicated Experienced Veterinary Assistant (VA) to join our Emergency department The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care for animals, with a specific focus on cardiac health. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians and/or assistants, and other staff members to ensure the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in performing diagnostic procedures and treatments related to the emergency department.
• Comfortable with monitoring anesthesia and assessing patients during procedures.
• Conduct diagnostic tests, radiographs, and routine blood monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure proper documentation of procedures.
• Communicating and educating pet owners on medical conditions, treatment plans, and at-home care.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.

• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Helping clients and doctors during humane euthanasia’s
• Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
• Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.

Qualifications:

• 2 years minimum Veterinary Medicine experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions (Preferred but not required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.
