Located in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Elk Park Animal Hospital is a longstanding, full-service veterinary practice known for compassionate care, genuine teamwork, and a commitment to both pets and their people. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary services for companion animals as well as large animals, with in-house diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, wellness care, and specialty and integrative treatment options. The team takes pride in creating a supportive, welcoming environment while delivering high-quality medicine to the Pagosa Springs community and surrounding area.
We are seeking a Full Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience as a Veterinary Assistant, but we're willing to train the right person. Additionally, flexible availability, including some Saturdays, is desired.
Qualifications
Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
Assist Veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines
Collect lab samples and maintainaccurate patient records
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment
Compensation starts at $15.16/hr and goes up to $20/hr, depending on experience.
