We’re looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our clinic family. What You’ll Do

  • Safely and gently restrain dogs and cats for examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during wellness visits, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked patient-care areas
  • Clean, prepare, and sterilize surgical instruments
  • Care for hospitalized and boarding patients, including feeding, walking, and monitoring their comfort and behavior
  • Observe patients and monitor vital signs as directed by the medical team
  • Maintain medical records and enter patient notes accurately
  • Prepare medications under veterinarian supervision
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet parents regarding home care, medication schedules, and appointment follow-up
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and fellow support team members to keep the hospital running smoothly
  • Help create a safe, low-stress experience for every patient in our care

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in an animal hospital, shelter, or boarding facility is preferred
  • Passionate candidates with strong animal-handling skills are also encouraged to apply
  • Comfort safely handling animals of different sizes, personalities, and temperaments
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Dependability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Empathy and compassion for pets and their families
  • A positive, team-first mindset
  • Willingness to learn and continue developing your veterinary skills
  • Comfort standing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift approximately 40–50 pounds
