$19-$28 per hour

Geary Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, community-focused practice in Walnut Creek, CA, founded in 1979 and dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care for pets and their families. Our collaborative team offers a wide range of veterinary services, from routine wellness visits to surgery and advanced medical care, in a fast-paced environment where there is always an opportunity to learn and grow. We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care and assist veterinarians and RVTs with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Prepare patients for surgeries and procedures, including surgical prep, equipment setup, and anesthesia monitoring
• Safely restrain patients and perform clinical tasks, including IV catheter placement and administering injections
• Monitor hospitalized patients and ensure their comfort, safety, and overall well-being
• Assist with radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and other in-house procedures as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical environment
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital

About You

• Minimum 3 years Veterinary Assistant experience
• Strong communicator who demonstrates honesty, compassion, respect, and accountability
• Client-focused with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and collaborate with a large veterinary team
• Able to prioritize tasks and maintain a high standard of patient care in a busy hospital setting
