Job Description
Veterinary Assistant
Muddy Creek Animal Hospital -West River, MD
At Muddy Creek Animal Hospital, we’re all about great medicine, good people, and the kind of teamwork that makes even the busiest days feel manageable (and occasionally even fun). We’re a community-focused practice with a soft spot for wagging tails, loud purrs, and the humans who love them—and we’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant who’s ready to jump in and learn the ropes. Minimal experience? That’s okay! If you’ve got the right attitude, we’ll teach you the rest.
What you’ll actually do:
You’ll be right in the mix—supporting our veterinarians and technicians during appointments and treatments, helping keep patients comfortable (and sometimes bribed with snacks), assisting with basic lab work, and making sure the clinic stays clean, organized, and running like a well-oiled machine. It’s hands-on, sometimes fast-paced, and never boring.
What you bring to the table:
You genuinely like animals (obviously), but you also like people and being part of a team. You’re reliable, willing to learn, and not afraid to ask questions. Bonus points if you can keep your cool when things get busy and still remember where you put the thermometer.
What’s in it for you:
- Pay: $16–18/hr
- Hands-on training and real growth opportunities in vet med
- 401(k)
- Company-sponsored EAP
- Referral bonus program
- Employee pet care discount (because your pets are clearly VIPs)
- A team that works hard, laughs often, and has each other’s backs
If you’re looking for a foot in the door to veterinary medicine—or just a place where your work actually matters—this might be it.
Apply today and come see what Muddy Creek is all about.
