Taylorsville, Utah

West Lake Animal Hospital in Taylorsville, Utah, is a well-established, highly regarded small animal and exotic-focused practice located just 15 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. We are seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join our collaborative team, with the option to pursue a leadership path with training after spending time in the role. Medicine & Facility

  • GP with exotics – Canine, feline, pocket pets, reptiles/amphibians, and avian (seeing exotics is optional)
  • Established referral relationships with multiple emergency and specialty hospitals
  • Updated diagnostic and laboratory equipment, including:
    • Digital radiography and digital dental radiography
    • Full array of new Heska lab equipment
    • New Element i+
    • New microscope with Bluetooth-mounted camera
    • Orthopedic equipment
    • Ultrasound
  • Well-designed clinical space featuring:
    • Three exam rooms, surgery suite, separate x-ray room, and a private doctor’s office to support efficient workflow
    • Separate cat and dog entrances, helping reduce stress for our patients

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • 4-day workweek, with flexibility based on DVM preference
  • Three-day weekends (Friday–Sunday off)
  • No late nights, on-call, or emergency shifts
  • Appointment times (flexible based on DVM comfort-level):
    • 15 minutes for routine appointments
    • 30 minutes for sick visits
  • Surgery and dentistry experience is required, with rotating surgery days
    • Surgery is typically scheduled twice weekly (8am–12pm), with a 2-hour lunch break, followed by appointments in the afternoon
  • Two-hour daily lunch breaks

Leadership Track Opportunity

This role is open to:

  • Associate Veterinarians, OR
  • Veterinarians interested in a future leadership path, with training provided after spending time in the role and learning the practice
