Position Purpose

Veterinarian – Where Your Voice Matters & Your Medicine Thrives

Woodhaven Animal Health | Plover, WIUp to $50K Sign-On Package

You didn’t become a veterinarian to rush through appointments or feel like just another provider.

You became a veterinarian to listen, connect, solve, and make a difference

At Woodhaven Animal Health, that’s exactly how we practice.

A Different Kind of Veterinary Experience

Here, medicine starts with something simple—but powerful: we listen.

To our clients. To each other. And to you.

Our mission is built around:

  • Earning trust—not assuming it
  • Exceeding expectations—not just meeting them
  • Creating a workplace that is supportive, challenging, and deeply compassionate
  • Always striving to be better than we were yesterday

The Way Medicine Should Feel

This is a place where you can slow down and do things right.

  • Ample appointment times so you can educate, connect, and fully work up cases
  • A collaborative, team-driven approach to patient care
  • A clinic designed to feel welcoming, calm, and comfortable—for pets, clients, and team members alike

We believe exceptional care happens when veterinarians are given the time, tools, and trust to practice at their best.

Support That Actually Supports You

You’ll be surrounded by a team that is not only skilled—but genuinely invested in your success.

  • Multiple Certified Veterinary Technicians
  • Highly trained assistants who keep workflows smooth and efficient
  • A culture where asking questions, sharing ideas, and leaning on each other is the norm

Whether you’re a new graduate or a seasoned DVM, you’ll never feel like you’re practicing alone.

Mentorship That Goes Beyond “Shadowing”

For newer veterinarians, we offer a hands-on, personalized mentorship experience designed to build real confidence—not just check boxes.

For experienced DVMs, this is a place where you can:

  • Shape the future of the practice
  • Practice medicine your way—with full support behind you

Medicine with Intention

We provide a full spectrum of medical and surgical care, with the tools and protocols to support high-quality outcomes:

  • Advanced surgical and anesthesia protocols
    • Dedicated surgical technician
    • State-of-the-art monitoring
    • IV fluid therapy & comprehensive pain management
    • Warmed, quiet recovery spaces
  • Access to specialist consultations and referrals when needed
  • Thoughtful, compassionate end-of-life care
    • Private comfort room with separate entrance
    • A peaceful, respectful experience for families

Because every moment—from routine visits to the hardest goodbyes—matters.

Flexibility That Fits Your Life

  • Full-time or part-time options
  • A schedule designed with work-life balance in mind

Because great veterinarians deserve full lives outside the clinic, too.

Compensation & Perks

  • Salary: $115,000 – $135,000
  • Sign-On Package: Up to $50,000
  • Additional benefits designed to support your growth and wellbeing

Life in Plover, Wisconsin

Nestled near Stevens Point, Plover offers that rare blend of peaceful living and active lifestyle From river days and scenic parks to local shops and cozy cafés, it’s a community that feels like home—fast.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A veterinarian who values connection as much as clinical skill
  • Someone who wants to grow, contribute, and be heard
  • A team player who believes the best medicine happens together

Heartland Veterinary Partners

About Heartland Veterinary Partners

Heartland Veterinary Partners is a support organization that is committed to improving the lives of veterinarians. We purchase veterinary practices and provide operational support to relieve administrative burdens such as payroll, recruiting, HR, marketing and accounts payables. If needed, we invest to support growth. The practices maintain their unique branding, culture and clinical autonomy.

At Heartland, we believe that selling a veterinary practice shouldn’t mean losing what makes it remarkable. When we acquire a practice, the doctor comes first. We listen closely to their needs in order to create a one-of-a-kind solution to ease their administrative burdens—all without disrupting their day-to-day operations, the culture they’ve fostered, and the relationships they’ve built. In other words, the name over the door doesn’t go away. The headaches of running a business do.

Partnering veterinarians appreciate an improved work-life balance, less financial worry, and the confidence that their teams will be in good hands. Best of all, they get to focus on why they entered the business in the first place: to care for animals and to be present when their clients need them most. Practice team members enjoy the warm culture of their individual community practices combined with the support and resources that Heartland brings to the table.

Improving the lives of veterinarians means supporting them at all stages of their careers. Whether you're a veterinary student or a new graduate looking for hands-on learning to begin your career or an experienced veterinarian looking to tackle management and leadership opportunities, we keep your goals at the heart of everything we do.

The Heartland Support Center team is hardwired to serve. We follow the philosophy of servant leadership and put the needs of others first with a genuine desire to help. As a result, Heartland’s practices count on team members to be there for them with heart and solution, not a corporate agenda.
