Veterinarian – Animal Medical Centre North

Welcome to Animal Medical Center North, a shining light in Northern Albertan veterinary medicine! Come and see what our clinic has to offer - we have a large group of competent veterinarians and support staff, a modern variety of diagnostic, surgical and dental equipment, flexible scheduling and a healthy respect for work life balance.

Our clinic boasts a large support staff with the goal of making life easier for our DVMs. We have a high ratio of RVTs to DVMs which allows our doctors the time they need to focus on the important stuff. You will be pleasantly surprised with the ability of our technicians and tech assistants to streamline your workload. We even have a certified canine rehab tech (CCRP) to help you with those tough IVDD and OA cases!

Our clinic has opportunities for everyone. If you are interested in routine surgery, dental procedures, or even orthopedic surgery we have the facilities and equipment to make you feel at home. If you are interests are more in line with general medicine and wellness focused practice, we have what need to succeed: up-to-date X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, laser, rehab equipment and more.

Listen…. two words…. FLEX-IBLE. We are seriously flexible. Even if you don’t live in the area, we can accommodate a rotating schedule with a week off to several weeks off between shifts. If you’re an avid traveler, have commitments in other parts of the world or just like having large chunks of time off we are happy to accommodate! At AMCN we know that work life balance is a real thing, not just a catch phrase.

Being in a Northern community our clinic has some on-call…. BUT… we share call with 3 other clinics! After hours work is generously compensated for and you are always accompanied by one of our wonderful RVTs. DVMs may have no on call nights a month to a maximum of 3 - 4 call nights per month based on YOUR comfort level. Seriously, check us out! Contact the clinic to schedule a meet and greet, zoom meeting, phone call or drop by and tour our facility.

About VetStrategy

Being part of VetStrategy is about being part of something bigger – an ever-growing community, where we connect person-to-person and skill-to-need, united by a common purpose of healthy animals, happy owners. From our humble beginning in 2006 to the present day, we continue to make a difference in the lives of people who have dedicated themselves to this industry.

When VetStrategy co-founders Orin Litman and his wife, Dr. Michelle Cutler, decided to acquire McLean Animal Hospital in 2006, they focused on three promises – our Customer Promise of world-class veterinary care, delivered locally; our People Promise, to be a great place to work; and our Sustainability Promise to be a force for good for patients, people and our plant.

Keeping our three promises led VetStrategy to become the leading veterinary network in Canada, with veterinary practices, 24-hour emergency care, and specialty hospitals coast-to-coast. We have developed and refined a model for supporting our practices across the country.

What we do:

We care for those dedicated to caring for animals by creating a workplace where we focus on innovation, engagement, and teamwork.

We know the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into building each practice, and we don’t want to touch that – we truly embrace the uniqueness of each clinic. Our heritage first approach means we won’t change a clinic’s name, culture or heritage.

We understand the challenges our veterinary teams face and are committed to doing what’s right – for them, their clients, and their patients.

We care about the future of veterinary medicine. Everything we do comes back to ensuring that veterinarians have the time, support, and infrastructure to focus on responsible medicine and quality care.

We believe in empowering our support office and clinic staff and providing them opportunities to develop their skills and grow in their careers.
