Job DetailsJob Location: Bay Aging - Urbanna, VA 23175Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/yearBay Aging is a leading provider of Veteran Directed Care services to qualified veterans and their families in 7 states and two US territories. The Veteran Directed Care program aims to keep older and disabled veterans in their homes for as long as possible via an annual personal care budget supplied by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.  A key component of this service is advising veteran clients on the management of this budget for home care and other essential needs.
The Business Analyst provides support to Bay Aging’s Veteran Directed Care program by developing, managing, and supporting the use of excel tools to enable accurate budget usage. They will complete the following job tasks: Supporting VDC staff in the use of excel tools provided by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for developing and managing veteran client budgets, developing additional solutions based on these tools to facilitate work flows and ensure quality outputs, communicating with VA Medical Center staff in the processing of these outputs, troubleshooting issues that arise in veteran budget development.  The position reports to the Director, Veteran Services.  The compensation range is $55,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
Essential functions
Serves as the subject matter expert on the VA Budget Tools(60%):
Is responsible for version control and updates to the VA Budget Calculator
Uses existing and new excel models for incorporation the VA Budget Calculator into Bay Aging models (the Spending Plan Builder) for veteran spending plan development.
Supports VDC staff in the use of the Spending Plan Builder in developing and managing veteran client budgets.
Interfaces with VA VDC Coordinators for the submission and execution of veteran budgets.
Works closely with the Bay Aging options counseling and fiscal management teams to ensure colleagues are trained and versant in their independent use of these tools.
Spending Plan Builder Training (20%):
Develops new versions of the Spending Plan Builder for implementation with Options Counselors.
Develops a recorded training to introduce the Spending Plan Builder to Options Counseling staff.
Update Spending Plan Builder as needed.
Miscellaneous (20%):
Gathers any information or prepares other reports as requested. Performs all other duties as needed by the VDC department.
Assists with providing customer service to all callers related to the VDC Spending Plan Builder or other aspects of veteran budgets as needed.
Assists with other programs/services as assigned or needed.
Cross trains with other staff members to learn Enrollment, BIT, & Customer Service aspects of the program.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of General Accounting principles and proficient in the use of Excel (e.g., formulas, reports, graphs)
Working knowledge of:
Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook)
Microsoft Excel
ABILITIES
Work well under the pressure of recurring deadlines.
Attention to details and strong organizational skills.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, and outside parties.
Strong verbal communication skills in person and on the phone
Strong written communication (e.g., reports, letters, emails)
Adequate computer, calculator and bookkeeping skills required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Hybrid-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 20lbs, walking and climbing stairs). No independent travel required around the area served by Bay Aging. Must have or be willing to obtain an ID.ME account to access federal databases.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree with a minimum of three to five years experience. Education requirement may be substituted for relevant experience.  Proficient to excellent excel skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
FLSA status: This is an exempt position.
