Responsible for conducting inspection rounds and performing routine and preventive

maintenance on the vessel. Assist the Assistant / Chief Engineer as needed and ensure

engineering space maintenance duties are met

  • Perform routine maintenance, including changing light bulbs and clearing plumbing blockages.
  • Rounds will be made in all engineering spaces and casino spaces at designated time(s) during shift. Among the tasks to be completed during rounds are:
    • Complete engine room log sheet.
    • Check fluid levels of storage tanks and motors.
    • Clean storage tanks and motors as needed.
    • Clean up any leaks and report to the officer on watch.
    • Report any equipment abnormalities.
    • Replace light bulbs as needed
  • Assist in pulling new electrical and computer cables.
  • Assist Assistant / Chief Engineer with repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Rounds will be made of engineering spaces and each deck for temperature status every hour or as assigned.
  • Work request box on freeboard deck should be checked regularly and contents

    brought to officer on watch.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Each restroom should be inspected and repaired as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage spaces, engine room, and auxiliary machinery room.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the proper use of power and manual hand tools.
  • Must have general knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and twist throughout shift.
  • Must be able to carry and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in a hot, enclosed environment with no fear of heights.
  • May be subject to extreme weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able carry and effectively communicate by radio.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any and all other necessary licenses and/or certifications
