Job Description

The Team

We are seeking a Vertical Market Manager to join American Tower’s Vertical Markets Sales team. The Vertical Markets Sales team works with customers across established and emerging markets to secure collocations and build relationships. Day to day you will be responsible for prospecting, business development and leasing of infrastructure and related products within an assigned account base. As a Vertical Market Manager, you will drive success with external customers by developing new business proposals, initiatives and programs to broaden the Company’s marketing reach and overall effectiveness.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all internal product and service offerings.
  • Effectively market and lease communications infrastructure and services to customers within an assigned account base by teaming with inside sales to facilitate single-site leasing transactions and directly managing multi-site or bundled leasing sales.
  • Achieve new quarterly and annual business leasing budgets for all products.
  • Initiate, organize, prepare and lead customer sales calls with consistent follow-through.
  • Pursue strategies with existing customers that maximize the long-term value of contracts and extend future revenue streams.
  • Understand customers’ business position to make internal recommendations on proposed key business terms.
  • Identify new business opportunities with prospective users through internal lead generation sources, research calls, meetings and presentations.
  • Develop business case materials to aid in the facilitation of proposal and pricing recommendation reviews.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive proposals and initiatives approved by management and establish acceptable business terms.
  • Provide accurate and timely pipeline and lease-up forecasting in Salesforce.com
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales or business development required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of wireless, telecommunications or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with forecasting tools such as Salesforce preferred.
  • Approximately 50% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
