About this role

We are looking for a Senior Vertical Marketing Management professional with significant experience to join our Building Solutions Group Team. Implements Marketing Strategy through conducting complex research and decision making based on the analysis of that research. This exciting hybrid role within our company requires both marketing and business development skills. The education vertical market manager owns the Carrier Enterprise vertical strategy in-region and will develop and execute vertical marketing plans while helping to drive enterprise customer relationship expansion. These activities aim to grow and influence the Building Solutions Group sales and product pipeline within existing Carrier accounts and targeted new accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a Vertical Market and Go-to-Market Strategy for K-12 and Higher Education.
  • Develop the vertical value proposition and communicate unique insights for improving customers' business outcomes.
  • Identify product portfolio gaps to address vertical needs.
  • Align with Education Sales Leader and Enterprise Account managers on growth activities and collaboration priorities.
  • Lead regional vertical planning, account targeting and Support Enterprise Account Managers when building annual account plans.
  • Build research and analyze enterprise account strategy content and relationship maps within the K-12 / Higher Education vertical.
  • Use a combination of events, social selling, email, and cold calling to expand enterprise relationships and provide leads/meeting opportunities to sales partners for new logos.
  • Work alongside Revenue Operations to identify target sub segments and vertical accounts for Enterprise growth.
  • Support Enterprise Account Managers as a vertical SME during high-value sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with WHQ marketing to build and execute collaborative vertical market content and growth activities.
  • Build and utilize various communities (e.g., events, Linked In, etc.) to generate demand.
  • Act as the conduit between sales and product development to build a future-state solution roadmap.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Vertical Marketing & Business Development
  • 3+ years of experience in the K-12 & Higher Education industry
  • 2+ years of experience developing and executing consultative business development strategies that drive value growth for customers
  • Ability to travel 25% domestic


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales/Marketing, or related discipline
  • Experience with Salesforce.com sales opportunity and lead management tools
  • Ability to lead and influence multi-functional teams to resolve vertical and client-specific complex problems.
  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Stay highly organized and rigorously prioritize while managing to detail while also being able to manage multiple priorities in ambiguous situations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across a broad audience. Includes the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills ability to understand contractual, and legal language.
  • Excellent project management skills and execution.
  • Extensive Industry and product knowledge
  • Strong collaboration and team leadership
  • Ability to quickly adapt and adjust approach and solution to customer needs
  • Ability to deliver software / recurring sales
  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
