Auckland Live is the leader in performing arts, culture, entertainment, and events in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, and is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest performing arts platform. Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events facilitates and delivers exceptional events, including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, and awards ceremony from 10 to 3,000+ people.

We are seeking a talented, professional Venue Operations Coordinator to be responsible for successful delivery of events across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) venues and precincts in conjunction with internal and external suppliers and service delivery teams.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain successful working relationships with Auckland Live & Auckland Convention Sales, Major Events and Event Delivery teams and TAU Core Services teams, as well as clients, suppliers and operational stakeholders, always delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with service providers to ensure best practice is applied for all event and venue management activities
  • Perform Duty Operations Manager / Venue Representative duties for events, including management of pack in, event delivery and pack out activities.
  • Chief Building Warden / Warden duties to facilitate the safety of staff and visitors.
  • Responsible for contributing to development of processes and continuous business improvement to support efficient and effective venue and event management.
  • Adhere to all current licensing and organisational Health and Safety policies and ensure compliance across all aspects of the Venue Operations Department.

Our ideal applicant come with minimum 3 years’ experience of working knowledge, at an operational/supervisory level, in a conference centre, hotel or similar hospitality or service-related environment including liaison with sales, event planning, client contact, banquet operations (or similar) and on-the-day delivery to the client

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills which will ensure you are able to work effectively, both as part of a team, and with both external and internal stakeholders, managing these crucial relationships to ensure overall success.

You will be highly organised, skilled at time management and have excellent attention to detail. You will efficiently and effectively work to deadlines and be tech savvy, including confident with Microsoft suite.

A strong continuous improvement mindset will be a strength, and personal resilience is a must. We work in a highly collaborative, creative industry with a huge number of stakeholders, so someone who can maintain their composure in pressured situations will be ideally suited for this role.

You must have a full and clean drivers licence
