Job Description

Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned which would include but are not limited to: shoveling, rockdusting, timbering, brattice work, stoppings, ventilation, belt moves, power moves, pumping and roadway maintenance. Maintain proper face ventilation both permanent and temporary controls.

• Perform other tasks and duties as required to maintain the outby areas in efficient operating condition.

• Fill in on section as needed and as qualifications allow
• Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• General knowledge of mining support activities (rockdusting, timbering, brattice work, ventilation, pumps, etc.).
• Knowledge of safe job procedures for general inside labor.
• Skill with hand tools.

• Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

• This position requires the operator to possess the dexterity (refer to Physical Abilities) to work and operate machinery and equipment in a coal seam height that varies. The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment.

Education, Qualifications and Training:
Underground coal miner's certificate
Annual 8-hour refresher training
On-the-job experience
Vocational training (optional)
Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management.
