Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vendor Security & Standards Manager based in Germany.

This is a senior global security role focused on ensuring external supply chain partners consistently meet rigorous security standards.
You will own vendor security requirements across carriers, 3PLs, freight forwarders, guarding companies, and last-mile providers.
The role combines standards ownership, physical compliance inspections, corrective action management, and vendor performance oversight.
You will operate across multiple international regions, identifying security gaps and driving measurable improvements across a complex vendor network.
Success requires a firm, independent approach and the ability to hold vendors accountable while building effective working relationships.
The position offers significant exposure to global supply chain security, critical infrastructure, and rapidly evolving technology environments.
Extensive international travel will be an important part of the role, with occasional availability required for urgent compliance matters.

Accountabilities

  • Own and continuously improve the global vendor security standards framework, ensuring requirements remain comprehensive, current, enforceable, and aligned with relevant policies and industry best practices.
  • Establish and enforce clear security compliance expectations for carriers, 3PLs, freight forwarders, guarding companies, last-mile providers, and other external supply chain partners.
  • Ensure vendors formally accept applicable security requirements before beginning operational activities and work with legal and procurement teams to embed these obligations into contracts and service agreements.
  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced physical inspections at vendor facilities, transit locations, and operational sites across international regions.
  • Verify controls such as access management, personnel screening, CCTV, handling procedures, tamper-evident measures, and chain-of-custody processes against established standards, including TAPA FSR and TAPA TSR where applicable.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports, document compliance gaps, identify systemic risks, and provide practical recommendations for remediation.
  • Issue corrective action requirements to non-compliant vendors, establish binding remediation timelines, and track outstanding actions through to verified resolution.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to confirm that corrective measures have been implemented effectively and sustainably.
  • Maintain an accurate global vendor compliance register covering inspection history, corrective actions, risk exposure, and current compliance status.
  • Escalate persistent or serious non-compliance and recommend appropriate measures, including sanctions, suspension, or vendor replacement when necessary.
  • Act as the primary security compliance contact for external vendors, communicating expectations clearly and assertively to security and operational leadership.
  • Conduct structured vendor security reviews, support new-vendor assessments, and define security requirements that must be met before operational activation.
  • Prepare global compliance reports for leadership, identify recurring patterns across vendors or regions, and recommend improvements to standards, policies, procedures, and enforcement mechanisms.
  • Work closely with regional security teams across the USA, EU, Taiwan, APAC, Israel, and future operating regions to maintain consistent security expectations and enforcement.
  • Requirements

    • Significant professional experience in supply chain security compliance, vendor auditing, physical security, or security standards enforcement.
    • Proven experience conducting physical security inspections and compliance assessments across complex, multi-vendor or international environments.
    • Strong experience managing corrective action processes, including documenting deficiencies, setting remediation requirements, escalating issues, and verifying resolution.
    • Deep knowledge of supply chain security standards, particularly TAPA FSR and/or TAPA TSR.
    • Strong understanding of physical security controls within logistics environments, including access control, CCTV, personnel screening, tamper-evident practices, and chain of custody.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate directly and assertively with vendors and hold stakeholders accountable at different organizational levels.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple compliance activities across geographies and time zones.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make enforcement decisions with minimal supervision.
    • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
    • Willingness and ability to undertake significant international travel for on-site vendor inspections and compliance activities.
    • Availability to respond to urgent compliance incidents or escalations outside standard working hours when required.
    • Experience in law enforcement, military security, corporate security auditing, or high-value and critical infrastructure supply chains is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with environments involving data centers, AI hardware, semiconductors, electronics, or other high-value technology assets is a plus.
    • Experience with global security functions and multi-regional vendor networks is desirable.
    • Knowledge of security technologies such as GPS tracking, geofencing, access control systems, or tamper-evident sealing is beneficial.
    • Additional language skills relevant to international operating regions, such as Dutch, Hebrew, or Mandarin, are advantageous.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive compensation.
      • Career growth and ongoing learning opportunities.
      • Flexibility and significant ownership in a global security function.
      • Collaborative and innovative working environment.
      • Opportunity to contribute to security operations supporting impactful AI and technology infrastructure.
      • International exposure through collaboration across multiple regions and extensive global vendor networks.
      • Opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact supply chain security initiatives.
      • A fast-moving environment that values bold thinking, continuous growth, trust, and real ownership.
      • International environment with talented teams across multiple locations.
