YOUR ROLE

Responsible for coordinating the delivery of materials related to newly manufactured or purchased products for manufacturing operations that require precise timing in order to maximize plant efficiency, and to support achieving delivery schedules and inventory targets. The role includes a significant degree of judgment and scope for independent action, with some direct guidance that may be provided by the supervisor.

Monitor an adequate level of material inventory. The work involves a number of office operations with decisions made based on established standards and procedures. The job is performed independently, with supervision available to handle unusual situations.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Monitor computerized reports
  • Correct the materials system
  • Review BOM/PPAP/Purchase contracts/Scheduling
  • Coordinate activities with different Materials departments.
  • Monitor the resolution of issues that arise in the Materials System.
  • Maintain frequent contact with others outside the work team.
  • Support in correcting issues within the Materials System.
  • Provide support in resolving problems with suppliers, scheduling, etc.
  • Maintain updated inventory information for unique parts.
  • Attend New Product meetings >> Assisted by supervisor
  • Follow up on purchase orders placed with suppliers.
  • Track purchase orders and their assigned promise dates.
  • Parts identified as critical must be ensured to be purchased as soon as possible.
  • As part of the Reaction Plan, communicate to affected users when a critical part reaches zero inventory.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve excess or shortage issues.
  • Ensure that required materials are not missing, as shortages may cause production line shutdowns.
  • Monitor and follow up on negative inventories (together with Project Manager/Receiving/Material Control).
  • Monitor and follow up on open ASNs (together with Receiving).
  • Monitor and follow up on components with pending payments (together with Receiving).
  • Report supplier issues.
  • Monitor and consolidate the overall status of each project and report any critical points that may put runs and/or launches at risk.
  • Timely comply with the ESGP_4-1_PC_02-F01_EN readiness checklist for each project.
  • Comply with the MBOM Review checklists ESGP_4-1_PC_01-F01_EN and ESGP_4-1_PC_01-F02_EN.
  • If there are difficulties obtaining the promise date or if it does not meet requirements, seek support from the assigned buyer for that material.
  • Expedite and ensure delivery of critical materials and determine responsibility for freight charges.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Obtain commitments for overdue quantities for the current week and the following two weeks.
  • Once commitments are obtained, communicate them to affected operations and their customers.
  • Verify that the requester receives the material and/or equipment on the promised date.
  • Maintain communication with the warehouse and Import/Export department to import materials.
  • Comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, Sustainability, and Energy Management requirements, and report any situation that may be affected.
  • Participate in Near Miss and Kaizen programs.
  • Comply with the training program assigned to the position.
  • Maintain ethical and professional conduct in all work-related activities.
  • Comply with Internal Work Regulations and plant policies.
  • Meet customer requirements to ensure a 100% quality product.
  • Fulfill responsibilities and functions assigned according to organizational changes and/or current company needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Analytical capability to handle complex problems >> Assisted by supervisor
  • Knowledge of Materials department operations, manufacturing processes, and interdepartmental relationships
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Basic mathematics knowledge
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • High sense of responsibility
  • PC skills
  • Ability to operate the Materials computer system
  • Technical degree completed / High school diploma / Bachelor’s degree completed
  • Bilingual proficiency – English
  • Materials training
  • Previous equivalent experience in the position
