THE ROLE
The Vendor & Contract Manager is responsible for managing strategic IT vendors and overseeing the full contract lifecycle across the Cloud, AI, and Software portfolio. The role ensures cost control, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and compliance, while supporting business needs and technology transformation.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
1. IT Vendor Portfolio Management
• Manage a portfolio of strategic vendors across cloud, artificial intelligence, software, and related services.
• Own vendor governance processes, including business reviews, steering committees, and performance follow-up.
• Maintain a consolidated view of the vendor landscape, dependencies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Keep an up-to-date inventory of vendors, contracts, renewals, commitments, and key obligations.
2. Contract Management
• Participate in negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and managing IT contracts in coordination with legal, procurement, cybersecurity, architecture, finance, and business teams.
• Oversee the full contract lifecycle: sourcing support, negotiation, signature, execution, renewal, amendment, and termination.
• Ensure key contractual provisions are properly addressed, including SLA, pricing, audit rights, reversibility, IP, confidentiality, data protection, cybersecurity, liability etc..
• Anticipate contract expiry dates and prepare renewal, renegotiation, or tender strategies.
3. Financial Management and Cost Optimization
• Monitor spend across cloud, AI, and software contracts.
• Identify and implement optimization levers such as license rationalization, contract renegotiation, usage adjustment, and vendor consolidation.
• Support cost governance across subscription-based, SaaS, licensing, and consumption-driven cloud models.
• Contribute to budget planning, forecasting, and financial tracking for the assigned portfolio.
4. Risk Management and Compliance
• Assess vendor-related risks, including operational, financial, legal, regulatory, cybersecurity, and concentration risks.
• Ensure vendor contracts comply with internal policies and applicable regulations, including:
• data privacy requirements,
• information security standards,
• procurement rules,
• sector-specific compliance where relevant,
• data and AI governance requirements.
• Support the contractual oversight of AI-related solutions, including data usage, confidentiality, accountability, transparency, and regulatory exposure.
• Coordinate remediation plans with legal, risk, compliance, and security stakeholders when needed.
5. Business and Project Support
• Support IT, digital, data, AI, and business teams in vendor selection and contracting activities.
• Provide expertise on contractual models related to SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, on-prem software, software licensing, and AI platforms.
• Advise project teams on contractual, financial, and operational implications of technology choices.
• Help align business needs with technical standards, procurement requirements, and contractual constraints.
6. Reporting and Governance
• Develop and maintain dashboards covering spend, renewals, supplier performance, SLA compliance, risks, and contract status.
• Prepare governance materials and reporting for management and key stakeholders.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to support vendor decisions and contract strategy.
