Would you like to play a key role in shaping how Veho uses data and machine learning in the future?
At Veho, we have spent the past few years strengthening our data capabilities, developing shared ways of working, and building a modern data environment based on Microsoft technologies. Now, we want to take the next step: moving from understanding what has happened and why towards predicting what will happen and taking action based on those insights.
We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join our Group-wide Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will take ownership of Data Science at Veho, setting the direction, defining ways of working, and driving how machine learning and advanced analytics are applied across the organisation to create business value.
Veho is a family-owned company founded in 1939 providing mobility solutions in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Our turnover in 2025 was EUR 1 642 million and there are more than 2,000 of us working at Veho. The company was founded as an importer of Mercedes-Benz, and the brand is still the core of our operations.
In the transition of driving, transportation, and mobility, our goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations – and this is made possible by a skilled and well-being personnel. At Veho, we have a continuous desire to learn and a strong passion for helping move the world in a sustainable and responsible way. Veho Group is a Great Place To Work® (GPTW) certified company. As an employer, we are committed to equality and inclusivity. We aim to build a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to be their authentic selves. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is the foundation of our success.
As our Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building and developing Veho's Data Science capabilities and implementing our data target state. You will establish the practices and principles that guide how Data Science solutions are designed, developed, and implemented, while ensuring that the work supports our business objectives. Alongside this responsibility, you will work hands-on with business stakeholders to identify valuable machine learning opportunities and turn them into practical solutions.
You will be part of our Data & Analytics function and work closely with the data platform team, Data Engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders. You will follow our Data & Analytics principles and take responsibility for the quality, transparency, and maintainability of the solutions within your area of responsibility.
This is a hands-on role in which you will be directly involved in developing and implementing solutions. Looking ahead, our ambition is to grow our Data Science team, which would also provide an opportunity for you to take on people management responsibilities.
Previous people management experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.
We are looking for an experienced Data Science professional with strong technical expertise, an analytical mindset, and the ability to connect complex analytical work with business needs.
We value a curious, structured, and practical approach to problem-solving. You are self-reliant and accountable, able to prioritise business value, and motivated to learn and develop. You communicate openly and transparently and follow high ethical standards.
Above all, you can turn complex analytical topics into clear, understandable insights that help others make informed decisions.
We work in an international environment, so fluency in English is essential. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
An opportunity to make an impact. We have defined an ambitious target state for how we use data across our organisation. You will have the opportunity to influence both technical solutions and how machine learning supports our business.
Diverse business challenges. Our international business environment offers opportunities to apply your expertise across different business areas. You will work on real business challenges and see how your solutions contribute to better decisions and business outcomes.
A modern data environment and an experienced team. Our data environment is built around Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Power BI, and increasingly Microsoft Fabric. You will join a Data & Analytics team of approximately ten professionals with expertise in Data Engineering, analytics, and data platform development.
Room to grow with the role. You will have the opportunity to shape how machine learning and advanced analytics are developed across the organisation. As we plan to grow our Data Science team in the future, the role may also expand to include people management responsibilities.
Your primary workplace will be at Veho's office in Aviapolis, Vantaa. We follow a hybrid working model, with three days per week at the office. Free parking is available onsite.
If you would like to develop Data Science solutions that support business decision-making and help Veho take the next step in leveraging data, we would be happy to hear from you.
