Job Description


Position Purpose


Responsible for vehicle performance validation and road load characterization of BEV and REEV passenger vehicles. Plan, execute, analyze, and report vehicle tests supporting development, certification, and homologation activities as per AIS, WLTP, NEDC, EPA, and ISO requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct Coast Down testing for NEDC, WLTP, and EPA requirements.

  • Establish road load coefficients (F0, F1, F2) and support chassis dynamometer correlation.

  • Perform and analyze 0–100 km/h, 80–120 km/h, Maximum Speed, 30‑minute Maximum Speed, Gradeability and Restart Gradeability tests.

  • Validate BEV/REEV powertrain, battery, inverter and thermal system performance under various operating conditions.

  • Analyze VBOX, CAN, GPS and test data; generate reports and performance benchmarking studies.

  • Support homologation, certification and target achievement activities.


Vehicle Preparation for Coast Down Testing


  • Production-intent vehicle configuration.

  • Correct vehicle mass, axle load, tire specification and tire pressure.

  • Wheel alignment and brake drag verification.

  • Battery SOC and temperature stabilization.

  • Data logger, GPS and weather station calibration.

  • Verification of ambient conditions, wind speed and road surface requirements.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.

  • 3–8 years experience in vehicle testing, performance validation or homologation.

  • Experience with VBOX, CANoe/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, Dewesoft, MATLAB and MS Excel.

Required Technical Knowledge

  • Vehicle longitudinal dynamics and road load fundamentals.

  • Coast Down methodologies (NEDC, WLTP, EPA).

  • BEV and REEV powertrain systems.

  • AIS, ISO, UNECE and homologation requirements.

  • Chassis dynamometer correlation and vehicle performance analysis.
