Location: Nederland, Colorado

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora Mountain Resort is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Apprentice. This hands-on role offers on-the-job training alongside experienced mechanics, working on a variety of vehicles and equipment including snowcats, snowmobiles, UTVs, ATVs and vehicles. It’s a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined who’s eager to learn in a fast-paced, outdoor environment while supporting safe and reliable resort operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic services on all equipment including but not limited to fluid checks, oil changes, replacement of belts, hoses, batteries and tire rotations. Must have the ability to assist other mechanics while learning proper repair/maintenance procedures and practices on all equipment including but not limited to heavy machines, snowcats, snowmobiles, trucks, vans buses and ATVs/UTVs.

  • Responsible for becoming familiar with the safe operation of all equipment, safety practices/policies, safe storage of chemical and maintaining a clean and safe work area/environment.

  • Develop skill in the proper use of hand tools.

  • Capable with tasks involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • Ability to follow direction.

  • Ability to work alone on some tasks; recognize unusual or hazardous conditions and take appropriate action to ensure safety.

  • Must be flexible and capable in adapting to all changing conditions.

  • Be able to fluently read, write, and speak the English language

  • May be exposed to gas fumes, loud noise, dust and dirt. May have to stand, walk or bend continuously. May work outside exposed to adverse and unpleasant weather conditions.

  • All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school degree/experience in a relevant field

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check

  • Must be 18 years old to operate company vehicles

  • Basic tool knowledge

  • Ability to operate in a safe manner

Physical Demands:

  • Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing

  • Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment

  • Concentrated reading and writing

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. 

  • Extended periods of outdoor exposure  

  • Extreme cold, extreme heat and sun exposure 

  • Variation in temperature from hot to cold

  • Ability to work outside in a mountain environment during harsh conditions

  • Ability to walk through deep snow while carrying heavy equipment and tools (50+ pounds)

Compensation Proposed hiring rate of $21+/hour, depending on experience.

Benefits: This position is full-time year-round position. This position is eligible to enroll in company medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, HSA, life/disability options. Accrued PTO.
