The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking a positive and energetic Vehicle Logistics Officer (VLO) to join our operations team at our Arndell Park facility in NSW (2148).

As the VLO, you'll be the first point of contact for our confidential drivers, coordinating waste collection services across Sydney. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring all drivers perform their duties safely, with no compromise on health, safety, quality, or environmental standards.

Reporting to the Liquid and Hazardous Manager, you'll manage driver scheduling, route planning, and run generation. You'll also work closely with stakeholders and drivers to provide support and assistance wherever needed.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of waste collection pantechs

  • Proactively review route performance to identify optimisation and improvement opportunities for efficiency

  • Meet Services delivery KPIs

  • Communicate with both drivers and customers

  • Ensuring all paperwork and runsheets are correct and accurate

  • Problem solve by responding to customer issues that are of immediate operational concern with a solutions focus

  • Respond to any operational queries raised by the Customer Services Team/Sales Team and/or customer

  • Conduct daily end of shift driver debrief meetings, discuss run efficiencies and capture any incidents or compliance issues

What you'll need to be successful

  • Experience in Waste Management, Transport, Logistics, or Service Industries

  • Proven track record in scheduling, allocations, and planning

  • Solid understanding of heavy vehicle transport regulations

  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate your team

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills

  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities to resolve issues quickly and effectively

  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

  • Intermediate computer proficiency with expertise in Excel, Google Suite, and Salesforce

  • Unwavering focus on health and safety standards and practices
