Vegetation Technician

Reporting To: Vegetation Lead Technician
Compensation: $18.00 / hour
Aeriz is searching for a full-time Vegetation Technician for our state-of-the-art indoor aeroponic cannabis production facility in Riverbank, CA. The successful candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent interpersonal skills, experience leading others, and strong cannabis knowledge with a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.
The Vegetation Technician aids in the production, maintenance, and health of all plants by performing tasks assigned by the veg lead technician in a large-scale facility. The technician is responsible for plant quality, upkeep, and overall efficiency of cultivation operations, including performing all tasks needed throughout the vegetative cycle of the grow to ensure development and evolution of quality products. This role will report directly to the Vegetation Lead Technician and work on-site at our facility in Riverbank, CA.
Responsibilities
- Assist with nursery room maintenance, watering and fertilizing plants, and transplant.
- Perform proper plant maintenance, such as labeling, defoliation, pest, and disease control in main veg areas.
- Perform irrigation tasks as outlined by lead and/or manager.
- Move plants in an orderly and accurate fashion, spacing plants accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Vegetation Lead Technician.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Able to show great verbal communication skills.
- Extended time standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet.
- May require working at heights up to or exceeding 10 feet.
- Close visual focus required.
- This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of hand tools, such as scissors or shears, in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, climb, stretch and lift 30-50 pounds. Requires the manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and hand tools.
Work Environment:
This position involves a fair amount of manual labor which requires repetitive tasks. This position operates indoors, which can reach different temperatures. This position may require working at heights up to or exceeding 10 feet. The Cultivation Department operates on weekends and holidays, and standard work hours may apply regardless of day or season.
