If you know trees and prefer being out on the road over sitting at a desk, this could be the role for you!

As a Vegetation Inspector with Active Tree Services, your job is to drive around Sydney, inspect trees growing near powerlines and note down what work needs to be done. This position covers Sydney CBD and nearby areas, with travel across the broader network as needed.

You’ll spend most of your time on the road and outdoors, inspecting trees, spotting issues early and helping keep the network safe and clear. It’s a hands-on role for someone who knows their trees, has a good eye for detail and is comfortable working independently.

What is the role?

What does the job involve? A typical day will include:

• Driving to different sites across Sydney to inspect trees near powerlines
• Checking which trees need trimming, clearing or follow-up work
• Taking notes, photos and entering job details into the system
• Spotting hazards and reporting anything unsafe
• Speaking with residents when needed about tree work happening nearby

What you’ll need

• Driver’s licence (essential)
• White card
• First Aid / CPR
• Industry knowledge and confidence working outdoors and on your own
• The ability to work safely

Bonus if you have

• Cert II ESI Powerline Vegetation Management
• MR or HR licence
