Job Description

Job Title:VDM Operator

The purpose of this job is to prepare parts for plating operations by processing them through the vapor degreasing operation.

WAGE TYPE Hourly

FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Prepare parts for plating through vapor degreasing
  • Visuallyinspect parts after washing to ensure they are meeting cosmetic requirements for plating.
  • Set up machine and monitor chemistry levels and temperatures.
  • Cleans and maintains area and equipment
  • Records production data on specified forms.
  • Performs secondary assembly, hand cleaning, or other required steps.
  • Follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Could potentially encounter hazardous chemicals.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports toProduction Supervisor/General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

Expected High School Diploma or Equivalent. One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language to communicate well with our vendors, internal suppliers and interpret invoices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Data Entry
