Job Description

We are Software Mind, an awesome team of engineers who are ready to ramp up any top-notch company’s projects! Our aim? To always be one step ahead. Become part of a multicultural company in constant growth with an excellent work environment certified by Great Place To Work!

Project - the aim you'll have

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (L3/L4) to join a growing Platform Engineering team focused on supporting software engineers across the organization.

Unlike traditional infrastructure roles, this position is highly customer-oriented. You'll serve as the first point of contact for internal engineering teams, helping troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment, and platform-related issues while partnering with a back-end platform team for more complex challenges.

Beyond day-to-day support, you'll proactively identify recurring problems, automate repetitive tasks, and continuously improve the internal developer experience. As the platform evolves, you'll also contribute to larger infrastructure initiatives, helping shape the company's cloud strategy and build reliable, scalable AWS-based systems.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving technical problems, collaborating closely with software developers, and balancing operational excellence with hands-on engineering.

Qualifications

Expectations - the experience you need

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role (L4 candidates typically have 7+ years).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, networking, IAM, and core infrastructure services.
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Strong scripting skills using Python and Bash.
  • Experience supporting Linux-based environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience debugging infrastructure, deployment, and networking issues with strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native applications and containerized workloads.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
  • Ability to gather requirements and communicate effectively with software engineers and non-infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with a customer-first approach.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across engineering teams.
  • Ability to work Central or Eastern US business hours.
  • Reliable internet connection, webcam, and microphone for remote collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting internal developer platforms or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, Docker, and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, CodeDeploy, or similar CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as DataDog, OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack, New Relic, or Sentry.
  • Experience with AWS services including Lambda, Aurora, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, CloudFront, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with cloud networking, routing, and VLANs.
  • Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience administering Windows Servers, Active Directory, or ASP.NET deployments.
  • Software development experience in any programming language.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers (particularly for L4 candidates).

What you will do

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to internal software engineering teams on cloud infrastructure and platform-related issues.
  • Serve as the first line of technical support, escalating complex infrastructure issues when appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, networking, infrastructure, and CI/CD challenges.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to recurring problems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual operational tasks and improve engineering workflows.
  • Build, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Develop automation and tooling using Python and Bash.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to understand platform needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural improvements.
  • Contribute to improving platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor other engineers and promote engineering best practices (L4)

Our Benefits

  • Educational resources
  • Flexible schedule and Work From Anywhere
  • Referral Program
  • Supportive and chill atmosphere
