DPR Construction is seeking to fill the key role of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Technology Manager – Enterprise VDC Technology at the Construction Technology - VDC Department. Reporting to the VDC Functional Technology Lead, the successful candidate will partner with the VDC Functional Technology lead and VDC Business lead to ensure our business objectives are supported, scalable, measurable, and adoptable by our enterprise technology solutions across DPR business units, project sites, and family of companies, and implemented consistently.
The role leads and owns enterprise VDC technology initiatives in partnership with VDC, Construction Technology, and Data teams, with accountability for delivery, adoption, and measurable outcomes across projects and regions. Responsibilities
• Translate VDC workgroup goals into prioritized enterprise VDC technology initiatives by defining scope, outcomes, key results, and guiding principles in partnership with VDC leadership and subject matter experts.
• Act as a connective role between VDC practitioners and Construction Technology teams to ensure solutions are usable, trusted, and sustained.
• Partner with VDC and Construction Technology leadership to signal demand, sequencing, and capacity needs for enterprise VDC technology initiatives, supporting informed prioritization and delivery planning.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise VDC technology initiatives, including planning, execution, stakeholder communication, and tracking of schedule, resources, adoption, and outcome‑based metrics.
• Define and monitor adoption, readiness, and performance indicators to validate value realization of VDC technology investments.
• Lead end‑to‑end platform lifecycle management, including evaluation, transition planning, user messaging, and controlled sunsetting of VDC technology platforms.
• Partner with Construction Technology and vendors to manage VDC technology vendors, licensing, renewals, and platform transitions in alignment with budget, value realization, and long‑term sustainability.
• Define and maintain clear service expectations for enterprise VDC technology platforms, including ownership boundaries, support models, and escalation paths.
• Maintain visibility into platform health, operational readiness, and adoption signals from a VDC business perspective, partnering with Construction Technology teams to address risks and ensure continuity.
• Partner with VDC, Construction Technology, and Data & Development teams to define and uphold data governance standards, aligning VDC data structures, schemas, metrics, and reporting with enterprise governance and downstream requirements.
• Ensure VDC technology platforms and data practices align with enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards, partnering with appropriate IT and risk stakeholders as needed.Support analytics and performance visibility by ensuring effective integration between VDC
applications, hosting solutions, and data platforms.
• Design and lead scalable adoption and enablement models—including training, digital guidance, AI‑assisted support, and documentation—to drive consistent use of VDC workflows and accelerate the organizations strategic areas of focus.
• Write and maintain application‑related documentation, including end‑user instructions, operating procedures, knowledgebase articles, and system reference documentation.
• Create scalable administration and governance strategies for maintaining VDC technology stacks and shared resources.
Basic Qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience working as a project manager or program manager within a large, matrixed organization, leading cross‑functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience applying VDC technologies on different project scales, including the use of models and digital workflows to support coordination, planning, quantification, scheduling, or construction execution.
• Experience managing enterprise or business technology initiatives, including defining requirements, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Deep technical understanding of Autodesk desktop and Construction Cloud technology stacks and their application across integrated construction workflows.
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, scheduling, and construction operations; field experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to understand complex business workflows and translate them into scalable,
repeatable technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across technical, operational, and leadership audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies in complex delivery environments.
• Self‑starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Information Systems, or a related field with an emphasis on technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on enterprise technology experience within the AEC industry
preferred.
