Lead establishment of comprehensive strategy for company-wide Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) standards. Drive facilitation and seamless adoption of digital build services to achieve company goals for efficiency, innovation, business lines, and competitiveness. Guide VDC management and teams, communicate organizational structure, strategic direction, and expand impact of VDC services through enhancement of staff capabilities.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout Business Centers, promoting “One Turner” philosophy, founded in standard work, and aligned with Business Center leadership directives and TOG recommendations.
  • Establish standard work for VDC, including process, procedure, SOPs and standard tools, including technology and hardware. Evaluate technology and hardware using Choosing by Advantage (CBA) methodology for consistent and cost-effective solutions and lead negotiations for VDC software and hardware in collaboration with Information Services (IS) team.
  • Evaluate future organizational structure and centers of excellence for effective adoption of companywide standards.
  • Facilitate communications with Operations to support consistent messaging and collaboration across Business Center borders for seamless VDC operations and integration across company. Lead, develop, and mentor VDC teams for consistent application of standards and implementation of best practices.
  • Demonstrate people-oriented leadership to facilitate, collaborate, and develop relationships and expand professional networks (internally and externally) for betterment of the organization.
  • Maintain focus on safety across business centers, collaborate with Safety team and develop communication plans and standard operating procedures to be adopted by Business Centers.
  • Lead strategic conversations across Business Centers with executive leadership, projects, and business development teams to align, set standards for delivery, and promote VDC services, capabilities, and initiatives across the organization, maintain full understanding of major projects and financials, align VDC services with strategic client RFP responses for determining VDC staff opportunities.
  • Maintain lead role in modeling projects to add value to client/project team and to maximize VDC staff reimbursement, with Finance and Operations teams, including contract terms, reimbursement billing structure, and other entrepreneurial methods.
  • In collaboration with Business Center leadership, Resource Managers, and local Human Resources, identify workforce planning needs for employee assignments, participate in project recruiting, and career progression and succession planning activities for sustained staffing pipeline that meets forecasted requirements and results in retention.
  • Strategically forecast and track deployment of Business Center VDC resources to ensure alignment of skilled resources for assignments and support resource leveling. Maintain understanding of Business Centers’ revenue benchmark and actuals to facilitate operational and financial decisions and VDC resource management goals.
  • Promote employee mobility and facilitate VDC career development opportunities across Business Centers and in conjunction with Resource Managers.
  • Mentor and develop VDC leaders, provide objective input on performance and future career opportunities in support of comprehensive succession planning.
  • Develop and implement training programs for VDC employees and teams, in partnership with Knowledge & Learning Group (KLG).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Construction Management, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Engineering, or related field of study, with minimum of 15 years of related experience, and progressive exposure to design, cost, sequence, logistics, and field installations of project components as it relates to VDC, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of VDC tools and applications in construction, cost, scheduling, estimating, and coordination principles
  • Construction management experience
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Strong business acumen and financial comprehension to facilitate operational decisions
  • Able to develop clear vision for achieving goals aligned strategic business objectives
  • Extensive experience to establish and achieve strategic business key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Experience managing and developing innovative solutions to overcome challenges
  • Extensive experience leading diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and driving accountability
  • Deep understanding of and able to establish strategic plans for workforce development, resource management, and staff career development
  • Able to establish, forecast, and manage budgets
  • Complex decision-making and problem-solving skills, with ability to assess analytical data for informed decisions
  • Able to work in intradisciplinary, complex environment and manage multiple project teams
  • Ability to grow leadership impact beyond local responsibilities, focusing on overall company performance
  • Ability to assess and support career development for employees
