We’re looking for driven and committed VCEMathematical Methods and VCESpecialist Maths Tutors to join our passionate team. As an Assistant Tutor, you’ll support our lead tutors in dynamic group classes (8–20 students), helping students deepen their understanding, build confidence, and achieve outstanding results, all while sharing your enthusiasm for learning and education. We have opportunities across all our current campus locations in Victoria including; Point Cook, Narre Warren, Glen Waverley, Box Hill, Melbourne CBD and Bentleigh. New locations in Springvale and Epping opening soon.

This role also offers a hybrid work-from-home component for consultations and text-based support.

What You Will Do

• Support - You'll act as a secondary tutor during classes (most classes have two tutors), helping address student questions and clarifying concepts while the primary tutor teaches.
• Consult - Conduct 1-on-1 video consultations outside of class hours, which students can book at no extra cost.
• Assist - Provide ongoing text-based support to answer student questions promptly after class.
• Review - Proofread and review learning materials (workbooks, notes, SACs/Exams) to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Mentor - Be a mentor for students, telling anecdotal stories of success & failure.
• Connect - Build genuine connections with students. You're relatable, making it easy to relate and inspire.

Note: All additional support provided to students outside of scheduled class hours is completely free for students, but you'll be fully compensated for your time and effort!

What You Will Bring

• 95+ ATAR and 45+ raw study score in VCE Maths Methods and/or VCE Specialist Maths (favourable, but not a hard-fast requirement)
• First-year university level knowledge or above in Maths, Engineering, or Physics
• Tutoring experience in VCE Maths Methods and/or VCE Specialist Maths (favourable)
• Academic Awards in Maths (favourable)
• Past VCE Graduate (students learn best from those who once were in their shoes!)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Energy, empathy, independence, and a proactive mindset
• Honesty, Integrity, and a genuine Passion for Teaching
• A full academic year commitment (e.g. no overseas exchange trips for 8 weeks)
• Ability to commit to weekly classes (e.g. can't constantly reschedule or miss classes)
• Travel to our Campuses (e.g. Glen Waverley, CBD, Box Hill, Narre Warren or Point Cook)
• Alignment with Contour’s mission, (Signed NDA and non-compete agreement required)
• A genuine desire to motivate students (e.g. your primary goal is to help students achieve their potential, like us!)
