About Violence Against Women Act
Will serve as a member of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) & Human Trafficking team by assisting the section with VAWA-related matters. Responsibilities include coordinating the annual Silent Witness Ceremony; coordinating and implementing training on various VAWA-related topics; drafting the annual grant and preparing quarterly and yearly reports as required. The position will also conduct research on relevant VAWA topics for training purposes and to regularly update the DV and SA protocols; and serve as the liaison to state work groups, sexual assault response teams, domestic violence coordinating councils, and other state and local initiatives. Will assist with other assigned duties and projects upon request.

• Coordinate the annual Silent Witness ceremony, including soliciting data, reviewing homicide reports, outreach with families, and other related tasks.
• Coordinates and implements training on various VAWA-related topics, including the behavior of victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, human trafficking, stalking crimes, and teen dating violence.
  
• Drafts the annual VAWA grant and prepares quarterly and yearly reports as required by the Violence Against Women Act and the Department of Crime Victims Assistance Grants.
  
• Conducts research and gathers information pertaining to the violence against women field for training purposes and the DV and SA protocol.
• Serves as a liaison to state work groups, sexual assault response teams, domestic violence coordinating councils, and other state and local initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Examples of duties

A Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice, public health, education, human services, or other related fields. Experience in the nonprofit sector, prevention education, grant coordination, victim advocacy, community partnerships, or strong project management skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Position may require overnight travel.
• Position may require the employee to work evenings and weekends.
• Position requires a valid driver’s license and frequent driving duties.
• Position may be required to travel and transport files

Qualifications

• Master's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the area of employment.
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
