Position Summary
The VAT Tax Manager – Brazil will be responsible for managing and overseeing all indirect tax compliance activities related to Brazilian operations, with a focus on ICMS, ISS, PIS, and COFINS. This role is primarily execution-oriented, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, payments, and statutory reporting in full compliance with local regulations. The position will play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, supporting audits, and ensuring data integrity across systems. The VAT Tax Manager will work closely with Accounting, Finance, and external advisors to ensure compliance obligations are met efficiently and consistently.
- Manage end-to-end indirect tax compliance processes, including preparation, review, and submission of ICMS, ISS, PIS, and COFINS returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax payments and reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Oversee tax accounting for indirect taxes, ensuring proper booking and alignment with statutory filings.
- Monitor compliance calendars and ensure all obligations (federal, state, and municipal) are met.
- Support tax audits, inspections, and information requests from tax authorities, coordinating documentation and responses.
- Liaise with external service providers and advisors to ensure quality and consistency in compliance deliverables.
- Review and validate tax data extracted from ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with our BPO all the information exchange process and daily calculation.
- Identify compliance risks, inconsistencies, or process gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve internal controls related to indirect tax processes.
- Support implementation and maintenance of tax technology tools and ERP systems.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure proper implementation in compliance routines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation supporting tax positions taken in compliance filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Accounting, FP&A, Operations) to ensure proper tax treatment in day-to-day transactions.
