Job Description

The Corporate Tax department is included in the broader Corporate Finance department and is responsible for the worldwide tax strategy, tax risk management, and the transfer pricing policy.

We are hiring an experienced VAT Manager with deep technical VAT expertise and a proven track record in translating complex VAT requirements into robust SAP designs and configurations.

As VAT Manager you:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for European and International VAT, providing pragmatic, business-oriented advice on changing or new legislation and complex cross-border flows.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of the global VAT setup in SAP (legacy ECC and S/4 Hana), ensuring correct determination, coding and reporting.
  • Define VAT requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications for SAP and e-invoicing tools, guiding and challenging IT and implementation partners where needed.
  • Drive and validate SAP VAT configurations, including testing of IT /E-invoicing systems upon roll-out and implementation of new VAT rules, rates, goods and/or service flows.
  • Take ownership of indirect tax compliance processes, recommending and implementing structural improvements and leveraging digital reporting and e‑invoicing tools
  • Build strong partnerships with Finance, ICS/IT, Supply Chain and Business units to ensure VAT is embedded in end‑to‑end processes from design stage onwards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the indirect tax compliance process.
  • Actively participate in various projects like reorganizations, mergers… and manage external VAT audits.

Profile

  • Master of Laws, Economics or Finance complemented with an specialized education in VAT.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant (European) VAT experience, preferably in a Big Four company and/or a multinational firm, with clear exposure to complex, cross‑border business models.
  • Demonstrated in‑depth VAT technical knowledge, including hands‑on experience in designing or reviewing VAT treatments for new business and supply chain flows.
  • Proven experience with SAP VAT determination and configuration; prior involvement in an S/4HANA roll-out is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable drafting and validating functional specifications, test scripts and business requirements for VAT in SAP and related indirect tax tools.
  • Familiarity with e‑invoicing and digital reporting obligations and tools, and their impact on VAT processes and system setup.
  • Demonstrate ownership, able to manage deadlines and strong in prioritisation
  • Ability to work on projects independently as well as in team
  • Analytical and critical mindset.
  • Proactive, energetic and taking initiative.
  • Fluent in English.
