To enhance our finance team at our headquarters in Rellingen near Hamburg we are looking for a:

VAT and Accounting Specialist (m/f/d)

Your duties:
Value Added Tax (VAT):

  • Analyze and evaluate complex VAT issues across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinate and monitor timely VAT filings throughout Europe
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of German VAT accounts
  • Prepare monthly VAT advance returns and annual VAT declarations for Germany
  • Submit monthly reports on intra-community deliveries and quarterly reports on intra-community services for Germany
  • Compile and submit monthly trade statistics
  • Assist colleagues with complex accounting and special cases
  • Manage input tax refund procedures for the Japanese parent company


Withholding Tax:

  • Assess withholding tax matters and apply for exemption certificates related to dividends, licenses, and artistic performances in Germany


Cost Allocations:

  • Coordinate and execute cross-departmental and international cost allocations and recharges, including trade fair costs, scholarships, promotion support, travel expenses, repairs, etc


Additional Duties:

  • Support quarterly, semi-annual, and annual closing
  • Participate in tax, customs, and other audits (including internal control systems with PWC)
  • Collaborate on developing and implementing process improvements and workflow adjustments
  • Take on special projects and tasks as assigned



Your profile:

  • Proven experience in VAT and withholding tax management, preferably within a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of German tax regulations and European VAT legislation
  • Solid accounting skills, including reconciliation and master data management
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage deadlines effectively
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Fluency in German and English is preferred
  • Experience in working with SAP S4 / HANA is a plus
  • Confident handling of the MS Office package, especially MS Excel
