VASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST - FULL TIME
Shift: 7:00a - 5:00p, 4 shifts/week, No weekends

The Vascular Technologist, under the supervising physician’s authority, is a vital member of the diagnostic team, performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound exams to aid in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of peripheral and cerebrovascular diseases. This role requires expertise in vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sonographic principles, adhering to clinical protocols and IAC Vascular accreditation standards.
They conduct comprehensive vascular ultrasounds, including carotid duplex, dialysis access, abdominal aortic aneurysm, renal/mesenteric duplex, extremity arterial and venous duplex exams, venous reflux, and post-intervention studies. The technologist prepares the exam room and equipment following infection control and safety protocols, ensures proper patient positioning and ergonomics to maximize comfort and data quality, and prevents injury.
The position includes providing patient care aligned with diagnostic medical sonographer scope of practice and supporting student clinical education when applicable. Additionally, the technologist contributes to organizational goals through quality customer service, performance improvement, teamwork, and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program required. CAAHEP accredited Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) school preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire or transfer. Credentials must be maintained to work. If not credentialed in vascular ultrasound, applicants must be registry eligible and pass certification exams within 1 year of hire.
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of non-invasive vascular ultrasound. Experience in a dedicated vascular lab is preferred. The Vascular Technologist performs specific testing, based on his/her educational level and clinical proficiency. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires extensive standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting of patients up to 50 pounds.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Cardiac Diagnostic leadership.
